Practical examples

How the analysis may work.

Unauthorised supplier payments

Situation: A company identifies payments to suppliers that management does not recognise.

Procedures: We reconcile bank transfers to approved purchase orders, invoices, receipt evidence and user-level accounting records, then list unsupported or duplicated payments.

Report output: The report presents a dated transaction schedule, supporting-document references, responses received and the amount supported by the available evidence.

Employee cash or expense misappropriation

Situation: Cash collections or staff reimbursements do not agree with the books and source records.

Procedures: We compare collections, deposit records, expense claims, approvals and ledger entries, separating explained differences from unresolved exceptions.

Report output: The client receives an evidence-linked reconciliation and quantified exception schedule for use with its lawyer, insurer or the relevant authority.

Shareholder fund diversion dispute

Situation: A shareholder alleges that company funds were transferred without a valid business purpose.

Procedures: We trace selected transfers, examine authorisations and related-party connections, and compare the accounting treatment with underlying agreements and correspondence.

Report output: The factual report shows the flow of funds, documents reviewed, explanations obtained and unresolved items without making a legal determination of guilt.

Frequently asked questions

Police report audit and forensic accounting — UAE

What is a police report audit in the UAE?

The term is commonly used for an independent financial or forensic report prepared to document transactions, quantify a supported loss and organise evidence connected with a police complaint, insurance claim or legal matter. It is not the same as a statutory financial-statement audit.

Is it the same as a forensic audit?

It may involve forensic accounting techniques, but the correct engagement depends on the instructions. Some cases require an agreed-upon procedures report containing factual findings; others require a wider forensic investigation or an expert report coordinated with legal counsel.

Can the report be submitted to Dubai Police or another UAE authority?

A report can be prepared for the intended recipient and may support a complaint or investigation. Acceptance, evidentiary requirements and the need for Arabic translation or further expert appointment are determined by the relevant police station, prosecution, court, insurer or legal adviser.

Does the accountant decide whether fraud occurred?

No. We report financial findings supported by the records reviewed and explain limitations or missing evidence. Criminal liability, intent and guilt are matters for the competent authorities and courts.

How is the financial loss calculated?

The method depends on the allegation. It may involve tracing unsupported payments, reconciling missing collections, measuring duplicated or unauthorised expenses, or comparing recorded transactions with contractual entitlements. The report explains the method and source documents.

How long does the work take?

Timing depends on the volume and quality of records, the number of accounts and persons involved, access to electronic data, and the need for clarifications. We provide a case-specific timetable after the preliminary document review.

What should be preserved before the review begins?

Preserve original bank records, accounting exports, emails, messages, device or system logs, contracts, approvals and physical documents. Avoid altering files or relying only on screenshots where original records can be retained.

Can the report be prepared in Arabic?

The engagement can be coordinated for bilingual or legally translated submission requirements. The exact language and certification requirements should be confirmed with the receiving authority or legal counsel at the start.

Our role is independent and evidence-based. We do not determine criminal guilt or guarantee that a complaint, claim or court filing will be accepted.

Legal strategy, admissibility and filing requirements should be confirmed with UAE legal counsel and the relevant authority. Engagement terms and report wording are tailored to the intended use.
